Stories• Mumbai to Himachal (India: May 2002)
I am a professional rider of The Royal Enfield
Bullet 350cc. I ride all over India, especially in Himachal
Pradesh, including off road trips.
I was born in 1974 to an upper middle class family originating from
Mangalore (a land of temples, with 50,000 temples in one District)
and settled in Chennai.
I have wanted to travel since I was a young boy, and started exploring
India when I was 21.
I hold a degree in Computer
Science and and advanced diploma in Computer and Information
Management/Diploma in
RDBMS which allows me to earn enough money to travel.
I was born and raised
in Chennai (South india), allowing me to travel South India
from Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) towards West Mangalore
(Karnataka) and east towards Vishakapatinam (Andra pradesh) including
Kerala. My job took me to Mumbai when I was 25 and
it has given good oppertunity to explore the West and Northern parts
of India.
Every year I go for adventures treks in Himachal travelling on my
motorbike to reach my destinations.
When I have the resources, I plan to make documentries of the world's
remote places.
I am organizing three trips this year. I invite friends and anyone else
who wants to come along and pay for their expenses. One trip, called
'The Land of Lamas' will be one of the most challenging trips in the world
and will pass through the world's four highest motorable passes--
Kunzumla, Baralachala, Lachungla and Khardungla.
If anyone intrested in coming on this trip, or offering suggestions or
guidance, please contact me at the above e-mail address.
