I didn't do much traveling growing up. And as much as I loved my hometown of Holland, Michigan, I could not wait to get out and see the world. So I did. I moved to Pittsburgh for college, went on Semester at Sea, which took me to South America, Africa and Asia, and attended Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City for a semester after that.

When I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, I took with me a degree in Art History and a passion to work in international development. So, I moved to Washington, DC, to work for two international health organizations. Now, I'm studying full-time to become a nurse.
